Science fiction books
Hey guys any of you know a good Sci Fi book??? With dark humor, politics, good character and ancient alien races like the protheans in mass effect or xel'naga in starcraft.
I just finished reading the first law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie, i really love his style. Are they any Sci fi authors like him??
Well i hope all of you are doing great, hope to see you all in Old republic

Re: Science fiction books
Well, my Sci-fi tastes go for more realism in the sense that I prefer to avoid latex-masked aliens speaking English...My favorite author as of now is Alastair Reynolds. There's the whole "revelation space" universe named after the first book, but I'd start with Prefect (works as a stand-alone book) or (not part of RSU) Pushing Ice.
You can get short descriptions for both from Wikipedia.

Re: Science fiction books
Perhaps not the sort of sci-fi you're looking for, but Dune (by Frank Herbert) is definitely worth a read. There's also a televised mini series based on it that's quite decent, but I'd recommend reading the series.Glavinius wrote:Hey guys any of you know a good Sci Fi book?

Thumbs up for this one. I really liked Dune and have read that whole series like 4-5 times.Thrandor wrote:Perhaps not the sort of sci-fi you're looking for, but Dune (by Frank Herbert) is definitely worth a read.Glavinius wrote:Hey guys any of you know a good Sci Fi book?
Re: Science fiction books
Actually, even the Dune movie (from the 80's, with Kyle McLahlan) is relatively decent too...
Re: Science fiction books
Humm dunno about Dune, ever since i played the game i have rejected it but i will give it a try now
Re: Science fiction books
Depends on the game. Dune II (the RTS) had very little to do with the original, Dune (from Cryo) was quite accurate in covering the plot. And a good game as well
