[RG1] Oysi, lvl 110 Guardian Druid

Post by Oysi93 » 18 Feb 2017, 00:10

Who is your character?
Oysi - Guardian Druid primarily, but I play all specs
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/d ... i/advanced

I should mention that I name changed about 2 weeks ago. From Zhanye -> Oysi.
At the same time, I name changed my Demon Hunter from Oysi -> Zhany.

Who are you?
Just call me Oysi. I'm 20 years old from Norway.

To which Raid Group are you Applying?
RG1

Experience
In vanilla and TBC I did some raiding but it was only the first few raids. I didn't spend so much time on the pc as I was literally just a little kid. I started raiding pretty seriously in Wrath, although raiding on and off and stopped playing right after ICC came out. Didn't play during Cata or MoP. I came back in WoD, and did Highmaul and BRF heroic. I dipped my toes into HFC but by that point the guild disbanded and all my friends had quit playing WoW so I stopped as well.

Now in Legion I haven't been in a guild yet, as I did not know if I would play very seriously. At this point I'm very happy with how the expansion has been going, and I want to start raiding more seriously. I managed to pug 7/7 Heroic Emerald Nightmare & 10/10 Heroic Nighthold on the second week of their releases. I didn't get down ToV quite as fast as I had surgery to get my appendix removed, which was right after the raid released so I decided to take it easy for a while. Right now after having killed Gul'dan twice I find myself left without content to progress on, which is why I want to join a guild.

In Wrath I was a Paladin Tank. In WoD I started as a Hunter but quickly swapped to a Monk Tank for the guild. In Legion I've been playing mostly 4 classes, which are Druid Tank (my main), Monk Tank/DPS, DH Tank, and now recently a Fire Mage.

Raid Role
As a tank my main focus is communication with my co-tank. Discussing tank-specific tactics, and how we use the strengths ouf our different toolkits to the max potential. Also, I am usually very quick to understand tactics and I pay attention to the raid as a whole so tend to chip in with helpful information where I can. I judge my performance based on how much I can do to make the fight easier for the rest of the players. When I die I will use deathnote to figure out why, in order to prevent that from happening again. After the raid I will check logs to get a better picture of what happened all around. For the most part I keep myself updated on my class through my own theorycrafting and experimentation. Obviously there are sometimes things I miss or get wrong, and for those times it's very handy to look up things online or ask others in class discords (or if it's a tank-specific thing, ask my co-tank).

Your Spec
43 traits currently, although I could have a lot more if I didn't put 35 traits into all 3 other specs. That said, I haven't been hardcore grinding out the artifact power.

Rotation depends entirely on what talents I use and what I want to do. With the way Guardian's Ironfur & Mark of Ursol & Frenzied Regen works there are a few different ways I can go about reducing damage. I can choose to smooth out my damage as much as possible by keeping at least 2 Ironfurs active at any time, using Frenzied Regen frequently and Mark of Ursol for any magic damage. Alternatively I can pool up my rage and use Ironfurs all at once so that I have 4-5 on me for a big hit (like Spellblade's Annihilation). Also, with Frenzied Regen I can keep 1 Ironfur on me + a lot of rage available, lose about half my hp and then use frenzied regen + 3x Ironfur in order to not only mitigate all the damage but also heal me right back up to full. There are a lot of different ways to use these 3 abilities together. I also have a whole bunch of cooldowns to reduce damage further, if necessary.

My trinket of choice is the Coagulated Nightwell Residue which gives me an absorb shield of up to 2m+ for use on big hits or just purely to give me an instant health boost for when I get really low. Beyond that I usually just go with Eye of Guarm for the damage, but I have a few other trinkets as well if survivability is a higher priority.

My stat priority is Versatility > Mastery > Haste > Crit.

For talents I have a lot of options. I could go on for hours about these talents, but I think I will just quickly talk about lvl 45. Lvl 45 is the affinities, and there really is no clear go-to for these. They all have their uses. Personally I favor Balance Affinity because it gives me 10 yard melee range which allows me to position myself in ways that no other tanks can do (which is super handy for something like Star Augur), and it also adds 5 yards to my interrupt (which is a charge), so it turns into a fully fledged 18 yard charge. As well as all my AoE abilities becoming 13 yard range which is very nice for picking up adds. Feral Affinity is good for movement-intensive fights as it not only makes my Bear Form faster but my Cat Form becomes 147% movespeed which is pretty much a sprint. However if I'm taking massive damage then Resto Affinity is the better choice. The healing isn't that impressive, but at the end of the day this one provides defense and the other two only provide utility. It also allows me to off heal when not currently tanking.

Off-specs and Alternative characters
I play all specs on my druid, but I primarily tank and my loot spec is always set to tank. I have 7 total characters at lvl 110, and 2 other characters at lvl 100. I'm a bit of an altoholic. I just enjoy playing a lot of different things, including all roles. My alts that are worth mentioning are:

Yirathel - Brewmaster/Windwalker Monk - 894 ilvl
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/d ... l/advanced

Tynari - Fire Mage - 890 ilvl
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/d ... i/advanced

Zhany - Vengeance Demon Hunter - 881 ilvl
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/d ... y/advanced

The others are 110 Paladin, 110 Rogue, 110 Hunter, 100 DK, 100 Warrior.

Communication
I have no problem using my microphone. I would very much enjoy using these forums to discuss potential tactics.

Your UI
http://i.imgur.com/qJCWxXJ.jpg
(I didn't have any in-raid screenshots on my druid so I hopped into LFR to take one)

The core UI is my own personal UI addon which I started making in WoD and have been adding to ever since. It replaces or changes pretty much all the default UI. I guess the unusual part would be right above my actionbars I have my own personal resource display, which shows health and rage like usual. But it also shows absorb (in blue on the left), frenzied regen prediction and charges (in orange-yellow-ish), how many Ironfurs I have active and their durations (in blue on the right), and my Mark of Ursol duration (in purple). The Rage bar also does an animation whenever I have Guardian of Elune to help me with using a Mangle for every single Ironfur, Mark of Ursol, and Frenzied Regen. The interrupt tracker is a part of my own UI addon which tracks interrupt cds and shows me if people hit or miss their interrupt, but I usually keep it minimized for raiding. Not shown in this screenshot is when I have set a focus it will track the cooldown of their taunt and display it on the focus frame.

Apart from that I also use DBM & Skada. ExRT for tracking raid cooldowns. DeathNote for examining how I or other people died.

Guild History
I don't remember the names of the guilds I raided in pre-WoD, but in WoD I raided with Heroic Knights which was later renamed to Nightfire. It was a Heroic raiding guild. I left the guild because after HFC came out it was crumbling and having problems getting people to show up for raids. As a result the guild leader (and raid leader) made some really questionable decisions both with the guild and during raid which essentially disbanded the guild.

I have not raided with a guild in Legion yet.

I'll admit it, one reason I want to join TRC is because you have a tank spot available. But also because I'm finding it rather easy to pug everything that can be pugged (aka everything besides mythic), and I want more of a challenge as well as a steady progression. Probably the main reason though is I just enjoy raiding with a guild far more than playing alone.

Raid availability
I should have no problem keeping to these times.

I regret to inform that I will be withdrawing my application. Due to unforeseen circumstances I may not able to attend raids for the next 2-3 weeks. Otherwise I would be entirely capable of attending all raid times, but now I have to deal with this. Needless to say I cannot apply to a guild with this incoming. I'm sorry for wasting your time.

Hi Oysi,
Thanks for informing us of the situation, we're sorry to hear it. Please do get back to us if you're in a fitter state to raid in 2-3 weeks. :)
