[SOCIAL] Tellor

Post by Tellor » 14 Oct 2015, 11:53

Who is your character?
Tellor (originally Tellus on Sporeggar), Draenei Priest, Grand Anchorite of Shattrath and Hand of A'dal. Grandmaster tailor and jewelcrafter, journeyman carpet weaver!

Who are you?
Max, 36 from Sweden.

Activity
My game time is rather limited these days which means I try to focus on specific things when I am online. Don't get me wrong, I like to muck about from time to time just as much as the next guy/gal, but I can't afford it the same way as I used to. At the moment I am trying to get stuff done in Tanaan (flying, bleh...) while collecting my elemental tablets and keeping the Garrisson going. I'm also somewhat of a completionist with waaaay too little time on my hands. The result? I rather spend time chasing weird followers, toys and achievements on my main than levelling an alt and its garrison, which would of course be the "sensible" choice. Bottom line, I play in bursts. When I do have time on my hands and enjoy the content I play as much as possible. When I don't really have the time (or the expansion features pandas) I log a lot less. It's gtting a bit tedious not having a stable guild to be in when I do play though.

I'm not active enough to apply for a raider spot, which is why this is done as a Social app. Having said that, I do hope I can get in on some of the alt runs, or any impromptu BRF and HC runs that might take place. I may have limited game time, but that is no reason not to at least keep my gear up to par. Baleful stuff is all good and well, but it doesn't quietly whisper "accomplishment" in the same way as the class trinket from Archimonde would.

From a broader perspective, I have always loved PvE most in WoW, specifically dungeons and raiding. The social interworkings, executing a well formed plan with 24 other people (as it was last time I raided), nailing an encounter after multiple tries and tactics tweaking. Heck, give me a 2 hour Heroic Shadow Labs run back in BC when you didn't have that much gear and you actually had to CC mobs every day of the week and I'm happy. Love all of it! This is of course not possible without a good and stable guild. I've never seen a guild as a way to further myself but rather a unit where the whole is greater than it's parts. I've been an officer in most guilds I've been in and also a GM in the most long standing one (Forgotten Legacy back on Sporeggar before we moved to DB). I understand what it takes to keep a guild running and that all members, mythic raiders or not, can play a part in making a good community. I understand what 10 years as a guild means. Congratulations by the way!

Guild history
I basically stopped playing around Cata and didn't play at all for most of MoP. Before I quit I was in Forgotten Legacy on Sporeggar, a long standing guild on that server and an amazing group of people. Some of you might remember it if you were around back then. We formed towards the end of BC and stayed relatively strong until MoP at which point many stopped playing. The guild is still around, and some members log from time to time. I was class leader (holy priest) when we did BC content and then briefly GM around Wrath. Much fun was had! Many gnomes were punted.

After that I joined a few guilds when I started out in WoD but they were small guilds that quickly fell apart. I just wanted some /gchat on my screen and wasn't really invested in them. I've seen your tag around and I remember you from back in the days, and when I read your guild introduction on this website I though that this could be a very nice place to be, regardless of how active I am at any given time.

References
As mentioned above, I recognise the guild name from way back. I think I've seen one or two people in your guild that were actually in Forgotten Legacy (Zeatrix if I'm not mistaken), if there are others I don't know. I can't say that I recognize any names now but, then again, I haven't been very active over the last few years.

About you
As mentioned, Swedish male, 36 years old and have been playing wow on and off since Vanilla. I work full time as a project manager at a translations agency and have also worked full time as a translator for 5 years. I'm fluent in Italian, a decent drummer and think that appointing Jürgen Klopp was the best thing Liverpool could do at this point in time.

Gnomes
Gnomes are brilliant and I've been tempted more than once to race change! No mohawks though!

I was in Forgotten Legacy on Sporeggar, raided in Wrath of the Lich King on Lupo, Horlicks & Brewster mainly. "Think" you were before my time, but I raided with Rishman, Abashi & Shadowvortex and some suicidal Scotsman rogue...

You re referring to Tronic, the good old Tronicle. Yup, he was around for a very long time. I think he went to Animosity which is where Rishman is now, isn't it?

Now that you mention it, I do remember your name Lupo, but it was indeed after I had more or less quit.
