I would shudder at having to play that on a console only. Or for that matter, world of warcraft .

Consoles are nice for multiplayer in the sitting room though with friends/family. You don't do that on a pc mostly. With a pc, you mostly play either on lanparties where everyone brings their own pc or via the internet.

A console also nicely doubles as a dvd player.

So yep, consoles have their use and so do pcs. Now if only there were some universal development platform so that games would just work on any platform and be optimized not by the programmers but the platform engineers.

At least develop for the most powerful platform (PC) and then cut it down for the other versions, don't develop for the weakest (360) and expect everyone else to lower their expectations to play it.

Well, maybe you'll be glad to hear that I bought an xbox last week as well .
This however does mean that we can go play red dead redemption multiplayer! And other games ofcourse.

Do make sure you use a hdmi cable however, if you have a hdtv that is. Without it the resolution is terrible and hardly readable. With it, everything is very crisp.
I had to buy one separately as it wasn't included with mine.

I think the controller is terrible with first-person games still though. Even moving the reticle slightly is considered a challenge. Xbox/PS3 games really need some kind of auto-aiming when you get close, like RDR supports, or at least very slow and fine movement.

Is it possible to mingle PS3 and xbox RDR for multiplayer?

Mine's pretty sharp, but it can't beat the resolution of a pc.

Doesn't matter that much for RDR though, it still looks beautiful when sitting on the couch. And I would never buy as large a monitor as my TV is.
