The Ghibli museum in Tokyo is where I went .Zarhan wrote:Verdisil, in Osaka you can find Ghibli store in Tempozan mall area, in Hiroshima it's in the Hondori shopping street. In Tokyo - well, you can just visit Ghibli museum near Mitaka

im going to call you, japanophiles.
So it's not about Japan, it's about great movies.
It's only £7,99 or some bandwidth to learn what all the fuss is about.

Re: Real life picture thread!
Japanophobe! We have a saying in NL for that:
"What the farmer doesn't know, he doesn't eat."
Farmer being used here as an x-phobe of anything he doesn't know and not daring to try because of his shortsightedness and tunnel vision on farming and its related, procedural ways. Also used for people not willing to 'think out of the box'.

Re: Real life picture thread!
<- Japanophobe here too. I never have understood what's the fuss with japan anyway?

Re: Real life picture thread!
I agree, please split off that stupid rambling about everything that has nothing to do with the RL picture thread.

Re: Silly Japan thread
Right, now I can carry on in here.
I'm not a japan fan boy, but I can appreciate the awesomeness of the Studio Ghibli films (My Neighbour Totoro etc..).
Surely 'art' can be appreciated no matter where it's from.
As an englishman I have a natural dislike for the French - that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the Three Colours Trilogy or Amelie. I'm not a big fan of Spanish cinema, but Pan's Labyrinth was awesome.
To ignore a bunch of great films just because they're Japanese is a bit silly isn't it?

I can't help it, every country has some other country they have jokes about.
I think most of europe picks on Belgium, but I couldn't think why with the incredible things they have given us - Jean Claude van Damme, Poirot, Brussel Sprouts.
Edit: and Leffe

Re: Silly Japan thread
I can't stand the Spanish language either, but their cinema has produced some jewels (I can recommend Rec, Orfanato and XXY) for example.
Re: Silly Japan thread
Orfanato (The Orphanage) was awesome - genuinely creepy and moving.
I've not seen XXY - I'll have to look it up
