It's a first-person free-running game. Basically leaping across rooftops while people try to shoot you. PC version isn't released for a couple of months yet, but the console version is.

I played GTA IV yesterday almost all day... the game is good and runs smoothly for me, tho for some reason i cannot put viewing distance to full (it doesnt let me). Anyhow, i like the GFX, tho i must say Vice City still has the best plot in my taste. Perhaps its getting better, but right now its a bit dull, although written good.

PS. Zero punctuation is always PURE WIN.

That's what the "-norestrictions" command line option is for (activating your gfx settings).

Tests mean nothing if I can still play the latest games on max settings fine. :P
Small difference in 'playability' then perhaps, rather than pure performance in benchmarks.

You can play if the latest game gives 30+ fps while some benchmark runs at 5 fps. Who cares :P.

I dont get this, it doesnt let me put viewing distance past 51, even if i put all those command line options there. Everything else i get to put full.

The other alternative that actually seemed more persistent for me was to

create a text file named "commandline.txt" in the \program files\rockstar\gtaiv directory and place the options there. Just do it in notepad.

Are the vehicle densities (if set to max on PC) sparser or denser in consoles?

I just had pretty much a perpetual explosion machine...blow up a car at traffic lights at a end of a busy freeway. Boom. Nearby cars go boom. And new cars constantly come in...boomboomboom :)

Even when I called 911 and got fire department on the scene the booms didn't stop :)

Couldnt be arsed to read 5 pages since ive read A LOT of GTA4 forums, just to make it run properly :)

It does run at average 25 fps on medium but thats not really the way id enjoy a game.

Awesome game no doubt, i love it, but sadly a poor console port.

Oh and howdy fellas, been a long time since i said hello here :)
