G T eyyyyyy 4
Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
that reminds me, theres a patch due out soon. should fix some things. atm my main gripes with it are lack of SLi and Anti aliasing support.
Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
Updated Nvidia's graphics drivers to 180.something from Nzone site (used to be 178.xx). These are not yet available from nvidia.com.
http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_gtaiv_downloads.html (Note, the actual file still comes from nvidia.com so I think it's trustworthy place ).
These upgraded my FPS in the benchmark (with same settings) to 39,17.

Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
im suprised thats playable though. i couldnt take a 5fps hit from what i get now (with 900 euros of wasted graphics cards grrrr)
oh and i tried it with and without the crack, same performance. so i just removed it. i dont mind being online to run the game, because it always is anyway. funny now that this game is CPU limited, everyone gets similar fps

Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
Ok, now tried fiddling with command line options.
Added -novblank.
Put EVERYTHING to max.
View distance 100, render detail highest, textures high.
It claims that used video mem is like 1,5 gigs .
Benchmark says 36,18 FPS and video mem usage at 100%.
Probably not very accurate if there's lots of video mem trashing, but at least the first mission went through without any slowdowns or other artifacts.

Still enjoying GTA4 on a 50" screen, while lounging on a sofa, as I have been for over 6 months.

Re: G T eyyyyyy 4

Aren't your thumbs and arms hurting yet from that horrible thing with pokes you have to hold in your hands constantly?Pyx wrote:Still enjoying GTA4 on a 50" screen, while lounging on a sofa, as I have been for over 6 months.

With Fraps, driving around your starting apartment:Jaera wrote:i bet its not. get fraps and check

Min/Max/Avg: 19/35/26,017, 60 second test. To be expected since the starting neighborhood is much more complex than the benchmark scene (with the elevated train and all that). Still completely playable.
Mind you that this is, like stated, MAX details, everything at the fullest settings.

Same thing, having to keep something elevated in the air and fiddling with your thumbs.Jaera wrote:yeah the 360 pad is much nicer
Aww, could've told you that the performance boost wouldn't be phenomenal .Jaera wrote:also its annoying! wasted graphics card
Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
Like I said, the game is just fine and playable for me
Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
dont fool yourself. in every other game it destroys the 8800 (even more as i have two of them )Kolos wrote:Same thing, having to keep something elevated in the air and fiddling with your thumbs.Jaera wrote:yeah the 360 pad is much nicer

Re: G T eyyyyyy 4
Remember that I simply chose not to upgrade it with my computer upgrade, because the difference is too small to warrant the price difference. I will get the next best thing though when it's out and that will destroy your card unless you wanna dish out the cash again .Jaera wrote:dont fool yourself. in every other game it destroys the 8800 (even more as i have two of them )
