The search for home - Cortex
The search for home - Cortex
Cortex put his gun down and took a deep breath. He had gone through endless battles, mainly in himself, about his place in the world. First, he thought the place would be found through fighting, so that he could one day say, that he was a legendary gunman, and chronicles would be written about his deeds. But that never really happened. Afterall, the world was full of great gunners, and his skills in powder based weapons were mostly average. Then he went on to specialize as an animal handler. In that he would excel above all else. And indeed, he was very good with animals. His most loyal partner, Ratex, had the dearest place in his heart. With Ratex, he took long journeys to the ends of the world, and even beyond that. They grew to depend on each other in the time of need. But when Cortex had walked a million and a one mile, he was still feeling empty. A deep breath.
It was time for a pause.
He used to belong to a great league known as Veneratio Aeterna, an order of old. Since times immemorial, had the Codex Aeterna guided his ways. He had had the honour to fight alongside of some great people with high morals and goals. But times grew old. It was not easy to watch so many of his fellows fall in the line of duty. Nor was it gentle for his heart to see so many people forget the Codex. Cortex was tough, but not ready for the times that came. The old ways fell to the world forgotten. The great accomplishments of the past faded like a poor tabard left in the sun. A deep breath.
It was time for a change.
He knew there were some people, who still believed in similar ways. They had crossed paths before, and the old Veneratio Aeterna had once forged a great alliance with them. They were called The Raven Council. Perhaps all hope was not lost. Perhaps the ideals of great fellowship or the times for great deeds and accomplishments was not over yet. Dare he hope, perhaps something even far greater was rising over the horizon!
Perhaps all hope was not lost.
1. What is your character's name, race, class and level?
Character name is Cortex, a draenei hunter lv70. I also made a Draenei DK named Excessuo recently, who is lv59 atm.
2. Is this character your main character? Have you had any other characters before this one?
Most of you probably know me by the name Valeo, as my priest and a leader of VA for a long time. Currently, my main has been Cortex, but im not entirely sure whether i keep it that way or if i start to play the DK more. So far im really liking the class. Im applying to RC with the hunter and the DK. Valeo i think im keeping still in VA as a sunday-alt, but atm i dont have plans on playing him much. As i slowly level him up to 80, im prepared to help on raids with him if a healer is needed, but as i said, im not gonna play him much atm so that might take some time.
3. What are you looking for in a guild? (raiding, PvP, RP events etc..?)
Well, I mostly like PvE and RP events. PvP i do like, but not nearly as much as raiding. Some of you have been on my raids in the past, and ive been raiding with you. Usually it has been jolly good and nice. Many of you i know are great people, and i hope i have not managed to anger all of you in my ways
4. What do you expect from <The Raven Council>?
Good fellowship, nice people and joint action.
5. Why <The Raven Council> and not any other guild?
Well i know many of you well, and i like you On the other hand, the guild is casual enough but still raids enough for my taste - a good balance should i say.
6. Who are you? (please tell us a little about the real life you).
Im 29y old male from Finland. I graduated recently from Theological faculty, and in the future im going to be a priest in RL aswell Hobbyes are quite many, including (but not limited to): computers, composing music aswell as singing, graphical arts, AV, web thingys, golf, sailing etcetc. My wowtime is not as much as it used to be, but i usually pop online on almost daily basis (varies greatly tho).

Re: The search for home - Cortex
One thing id like to add is, that i know you have an abundance of hunters and dps classes atm. I dont mean to take their places in future raids if thats a problem. Right now im mostly looking for great fellowship.

Re: The search for home - Cortex
Seems my application has hit some unseen glasswall. If there is some bad blood somewhere in the councillors about me, id like to know about it. At least i have always considered you my friends, has that feeling been one-directional?

Re: The search for home - Cortex
I'd like to mention that a reaction was made ingame to Cortex yesterday evening. I'll be online with Pinot around 20.00 servertime tonight for further contact.
Re: The search for home - Cortex
Ah alright, I was just a bit confused. Ill try to be online today evening so we can talk.
Re: The search for home - Cortex
What's going on? I know I for one was glad to see Valeo finally decided to join the rest of us. For me at least, he's always been an integral part of the appeal of the game. But then again, I'm old VA cadre and new to RC. But that's my two cents.
Re: The search for home - Cortex
i hope that You can resolve this problem. Valeo is great person. we spend lots of time speaking on officer chat and imo it would be a great additon to RC. just like Thuren and propably lots of people who came to Raven Council from Veneratio Aeterna i'm glad that You're back . and i hope that we will kill Arthas together under RC banner.
Re: The search for home - Cortex
Yea bring Valeo in, to not do so would just be foolish i think. Valeo has always been and still is a wise person with good ideas. And he is my friend.
Is there anything bad to say about this person ? No there is not. So bring him in and let him join the rest of the happy gang !

Re: The search for home - Cortex
As I'm an old VA member myself I played quite a lot with Valeo. I think he's a good player and a helpful friend.
I'd be glad to see him in guildchat some time soon
