upgrade wow graphics

Post by Jaera » 02 May 2008, 19:00

hi all,

just found this macro. makes the grass more dense longer view distance and proper ambient lighting on your char!

copy paste into a macro

/console farclip 777
/console horizonfarclip 6226
/console groundeffectdensity 256
/console groundeffectdist 140
/console smallcull 0
/console skycloudlod 3
/console characterambient 0

you only need to use it once and log out as normal. it will be saved. you can reset to the old one at any time by using the defaults button. give it a go then go to darkshore for example. looks sweet!

ok did some more research and this is better :)

/console farclip 777
/console horizonfarclip 6226
/console groundeffectdensity 256
/console groundeffectdist 140
/console smallcull 0
/console skycloudlod 3
/console characterambient
/console detailDoodadAlpha 100

the
/console characterambient

line removes all fake lighting from your char. which means its lit by the environment only. looks sweet as. apparently you have to do it every time you load the game though. but hell its just pressing a macro button. and its muchos worth it.

Looks nice. By the way, the only difference between what you posted first is:
/console detailDoodadAlpha 100

and not the characterambient line, where you simply removed the '0' :P.
It defaults to 0 apparently, but I'd rather leave it explicitly.

yeah but, the ambient with 0 looks different to ambient with no number.

and you do have to do it every load of the game. sad but hell its only one click :)
