New gaming pc

Post by Zarhan » 17 Apr 2008, 16:36

Hi,

I just placed an order for a new PC - I can still cancel/change that if I screwed something up - but what do you thing of the following stuff?

P35-NEO2-FIR motherboard from MSI, http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func ... incat_no=1 - intel ICH9r chipset (so if motherboard decides to fry itself, RAID5 should be compatible with newer Intel motherobards)
E8500 Core 2 Duo, 3,16 GHz
Gefore 8800 GTS, Asus
Antec P182 case
Ninja SCNJ-1100P CPU cooler
4 gig DDR2-800 5-5-5-15 memory stick (what do the last four numbers mean?)
4x750 GB Samsung SATAII HDDs, into a RAID5.

(I'm paying about 1500 EUR for this pile - it includes 22% VAT though)

looks nice. the numbers are the latency of the memory. i think mine is 4-4-4-12 which is faster. if you can get CL4 memory it would be better.

but overall looks nice. i like the look of those new cpus too

Finally you will see that Shattrath is actually not laggy at all, it was just in your mind. :P

Looks really nice, and the numbers are the search time for the RAM.. so the lower numbers the better
