Who is your character?
My characters name is Deliant, a simple worgen warlock that enjoys long walks on the beach and melting faces in raid dungeons. I can play all specs, but the majority of my AP is put in affliction (lvl 44) and destruction (lvl 38) for now.
Who are you?
Hi, I'm Marius, a 31 year old computer science bachelor student from Norway. I enjoy brewing beer, tinkering with computers and racing motorcycles. I like to think of myself as a uncomplicated and laid back dude, and i always try to help out the people around me. When I do something, I want to do the best that I possibly can and I'm always looking for ways to improve.
To which Raid Group are you Applying?
I am applying for RG1
Experience
Vanilla: Made a rogue character on US server after playing beta, because I didn't have the patience to wait the extra 3 months for the game to be launched in EU. Joined a random guild while leveling and after doing U/LBRS,Scholo and Stratholme for the Dungeon Set 1 i was invited to come raid with the guild in MC and OL. It was pure chaos, I had no idea what I was doing, but its some of the best memories I have to this day in the game. We cleared MC and Onyxia as current content, but at some point my account was hacked and I couldn't provide ID to prove it was mine. The account was obtained by my friend i had played beta with - a lack of judgement on my part.
TBC: Played a rogue again, this time on EU-Grim Batol server and a account i had created for myself. Cleared t4 and t5 in a horde guild called Infamy all while current, progression halted in sunwell on M'uru after a number of players quit and the guild had to take a break to rebuild the roster for WotLK.
WotLK: Rerolled a shadow priest this expansion for guild needs and cleared the t7 raids with hardmodes. Before Ulduar the core of Infamy wanted to step up their raiding and i was asked to join a migration to Magtheridon, at the time #1 realm for pve progress and joined the #2 ranked guild on the server called Operation Eskimo. Algalon HC was defeated as world #30 but at that point people were really burnt out from raiding, and the same problem with people quitting started to happend here. It had been fun and exciting, but I realized that I wasn't prepared to sacrifice 7 days a week, raiding endless nights.
I had a break during T9 but was offered to join Gief Epix, a RL friends guild as a rerolled dps DK for T10. They were a norwegian-only guild which made communication easy and intuitive, and during ICC10 HC we managed to rack up a decent amount of top25 ranks. 25man things were abit slower but in the end we killed Lich King with a world rank of #167. Gief Epix ended up using alot of class stacking and in general had 5+ players standby for each raid to jump in on different fights. I hated seeing my teammates raid without me and it left me feeling distanced and less valued, even though the sitouts were fairly evenly distributed among members. I decided that I would rather play casually with friends than down bosses top100 in the world.
Cata: Casual, nothing worthy of note.
MoP: Casual t14-t15, about half the hc's cleared.
WoD: Break.
Legion: Started in October after hearing about the hype from friends. Was positively surprised when i tried it and decided to give raiding a go again. I joined Prime late in October and progressed with them through EN mythic and ToV HC (full clears). Currently I've done 8/10 HC in NH, but I am armed with tactical knowledge and weakauras for the mythic fights awaiting.
Raid Role
My role as a warlock is to keep sustained damage on the boss going, and dealing with adds when its required. Warlocks can contribute to some burst in the form of SoC (many adds), or UA (single/few adds) and the artifact ability reap souls, but as a dot class there is a significant rampup element involved to reach max dps. Our true strength is in sustained damage to multiple mobs over time, like council fights.
I judge my performance based on analyzing the fight as it is happening (did i mess something up? miss a timing? could i have used reap soul better?), and logs after the raid to compare myself to other raiders. During the fights i try to think of the best ways to use reap soul, and in general being 2 steps ahead of what I'm doing. I haven't played Affliction since MoP, so I will admit this is a work in progress and I haven't quite hit my stride yet.
I prepare for fights by analyzing the dungeon journal and marking relevant abilities for me as a ranged DPS, I configure my bigwigs to give the notifications I want for different abilities, and if need be I will make weakauras for the encounter. I also usually go through the fatboss videos to get an overveiw of the encounter as a whole and to see if i missed or misinterpreted something important. My bags are forever stacked with flasks, potions, food, tomes and runes for progress.
I read up on my class on mmo-champion, as well as performing my own gear simulations and tests - a combination i have found to work well. Sometimes talents can be a theoretical dps increase, but when you apply it in the real world it is clunky and prone to errors which will lead to dps loss in a hectic fight.
Your Spec
Affliction - Artifact level 44
DPS Priority:
Pre-pot
Agony, Corruption and Siphon Life (if talented) on target
Agony secondary targets, Corruption if talented Absolute Corruption and they will live long enough
Drain Life until 4th shard is generated
Reapply dots
If talented Malefic Graps begin drain cycle
If talented Writhe in Agony begin UA dump
Drain cycle:
Drain Soul until dots are in pandemic range (goal is to "fish" for artifact souls and a minimum of 2 shards)
Reapply dots
UA atleast 2 times, up to 4 times if you have shards or Soul Conduit procs. Be at 3 shards or less before continuing
Drain Soul until all UA are gone. Only stop draining if you need to reapply agony so stack don't fall off
Absolute Corruption / Writhe in Agony build:
Maintain Agony and Siphon Life on targets, reapply during pandemic (and Effigy if talented)
On 3 souls, reapply dots to targets, and wait for 4 shards. When you get 4 shards, reapply dots again for max extend, reap souls, dump up to 5 UA into the target uninterrupted and drain. Goal here is to get all 5 UA + a full Drain Soul without having to reapply dots at all under reap souls effect.
AOE:
Pre-cast Seed of Corruption on target
UA target with SoC for it to explode
Agony 2 targets, then SoC again
Agony the rest of the targets
Alternate SoC and agony
Talents:
Tier1 - Its a choice between Writhe in Agony for multitarget situations (3 or more), or Malefic Grasp for ST/2T
Tier2 - This tier mostly depends on your other talents. If using MG and Effigy you want Absolute Corruption to save GCDs and give smoother drain cycles. Contagion works really well with Soul Conduit. Empowered Life Taps is good when used with Sow the Seeds
Tier3 - Utility tier, will mostly default to Demonic Circle for mobility unless you have Sephuz Secret
Tier4 - Utility tier, will depend on fight - but usually defaults to Burning Rush for mobility unless the fight requires an extra defensive CD or static absorption (cenarius)
Tier5 - Grimoire of Service is the theoretical ST dps winner, but Supremacy works better with Malefic Grasp builds due to issues with shard costs of Service
Tier6 - For sustained ST damage Soul Effigy is the winner, but it is a major PITA to maintain the Effigy (no targetting mechanism) and a huge QoL decrease in stressful fights where important things are happening at regular intervals. Soul Conduit works really well with t19 4set and Contagion talent
Stat priorities for Affliction are Mastery > Int > Crit = Haste > Versatility depending on the rest of your gear.
At higher levels of Mastery it will eventually loose value and int/crit/haste will increase in value.
Usually haste will give a more stable DPS, but crit will excel in AoE situations with Sow the Seeds
Off-specs and Alternative characters
If required I will play any spec my class can provide.
I have 2 level 110 alt chars. A Blood DK (can be regeared towards DPS) and a Shadow Priest
Currently they are both sitting at ~870 average item level and could use abit of work before seeing real action.
Both can be played at a decent level with a little effort towards gear optimization
Delswag - Death Knight
Delylz - Priest
Uhh so, I read your character naming policy. Sorry about that, I'm new to RP servers and like to keep my alts (including their names) lighthearted ^^ Will of course fix this if required, sorry if I offend anyone
Communication
I have a working microphone and I'm not afraid to use it. I am also happy to regularly check forums and private communication channels for updates and information
Combat Logs
Jan 19
Jan 25
Jan 26
Feb 01
Some of the fights are decent numbers, and some I need to work on timings. Also some of these are progress logs where death by ability is invalidated by whipe calls

Guild History
Classic - Can't remember the name
TBC - Infamy@Grim Batol
WotLK - Infamy@Grim Batol -> core merged to Operation Eskimo@Magtheridon,
Gief Epix@Grim Batol
Cata, MoP - The Forsaken Dominion @ Grim Batol, casual RL friend guild
Legion - Prime @ The Defias Brotherhood
Your ambitions to see content while its current along with your comparatively relaxed raid schedule is something that fits me well. You also advertise with group activities outside of raid and a drama free guild focused on progression. I would really like to take part in that
Raid availability
In general i can make all raid times. During exam periods i might ask for the occasional day off for studies, and during summer I might ask for a couple of sundays off so i can go race my motorcycle. Both will be planned ahead as well as possible and given notice ahead of
