Who is your character?
  • Rayne - Gnome Protection Warrior
  • Luumikai - Gnome Subtlety Rogue
Who are you?
  • Rayne - Mark, 34, The Netherlands
  • Luumikai - Lucy, 26, UK but currently in the Netherlands – we spend all our time together.
Activity
  • Rayne - My little Gnome ticker has always been drawn to raiding and PvE in general. And with me turning casual near the end of Cata, returning to the game usually consisted of dungeon spam and old nostalgic content farming. As for the current expansion; running mythic+ and focusing on integrating into a stable community are my main goals. Raiding will always be in my blood and if time and opportunity would arise I would be the first to stand up and grasp it.
  • Luumikai - Running in circles around Dalaran. When that gets old, I like convincing Rayne to shorten my group finder queue by 100%, working on mythic+ tactics, and chasing the completionist dream of having no world quests left. I've absolutely loved running Emerald Nightmare and if any spaces on farm raids become available for melee dps on short notice (I know, unlikely) then I would be more than happy (so like gnome-level happy) to help out.
Guild history
  • Rayne – My Defias history goes back eons (technically half an hour after the server went live). My first raiding experience started on my Priest (Minerva) in Vanilla, but not long after that I found my love for tanking. A few notable guilds would be 'Zealots', 'Elysium', 'Redrum Inc.', and finally 'The Core', with whom I raided through the brunt of the Cata expansion, ending up as raid/guild leader throughout our Heroic progression. I tried picking up raiding again in WoD, but that didn't work out so well due to both social and real life circumstances.
Coming back in Legion, I felt it was prudent to give Luumikai a taste of what raiding is like, and we joined a casual guild to get a feel of the current state of WoW. Liking what we saw yet unsatisfied with both the community and the raiding stability we felt it was time to move on after major signs of guild-implosion hit the officer chat.
  • Luumikai - We joined Sanguine Inquisition, and when that disbanded we followed the main leaders to Fallen Swords. Unfortunately, a few of the core members are leaving the game and we'd like a new start in an established community. Yours would be awesome!
References
  • Luumikai - Who hasn't heard of you? No, seriously, I'm always seeing Raven Council members in dungeons and the world.
  • Rayne – Nicolete, Adinda and Norvi are a few members that definitely come to mind, fuelled with a healthy dosage of nostalgia and glee.
About you
  • Rayne – Like I've mentioned before, I started playing WoW quite early in Vanilla and went more serious the second Defias Brotherhood went live. Since then I've played WoW on and off, with most time invested during Vanilla/TBC and Cata. After Cata and the disbanding on my old guild 'The Core' I more or less quit WoW, resubbing on the occasional whim to see new contents from a casual perspective, often leveling with friends that didn't last and giving up due to the lack of any community sense.
  • Luumikai - I only started playing WoW recently with Rayne but the more I play the more I love it. Looking up and coming up with tactics is really fun, but I feel a little frustrated that we've yet to find a reliable group to run mythic+ with and I'd really like that. I also have had a lot of fun playing with simulations for my character and it's really helped (who knew that being a WoW addict had so much in common with being a statistician?), and I would love to brainstorm with others how best to modify simulations and stuff, you know, if possible. Other than that, in WoW, I like working on achievements and I want my purple hippogryph! I'm the kind of person that isn't good at self descriptions, but I hope my maturity and dedication shines through anyway.

Gnomes
  • Rayne – I for one think our proud and steadfast race is vastly under appreciated. Often enough we're merely good for a jolt of comical relief. (I'm looking at you Millhouse-- friggin' sellout.) I truly believe it's time for us short folk to stand up and claim our inevitable place as /the/ most superior race. What we lack in height, we make up for our… omg are those nuggets on a chicken?!? – Anyhow, disregarding the fact that my Warrior started out as Human (A fact I still have to erase from every celestial archive… at this point I'll just have to dispose of Belmina) Nearly every character I've made in the past 7 years was a Gnome, and a Warrior, with coincidentally the exact same hairdo.
  • Luumikai - The only bad thing about gnomes (and trust me there's nothing bad about gnomes) is that they can't be shaman. Actually, that's a bad thing about shaman. Gnomes are awesome. My main rogue is a gnome. My warrior is a gnome. My priest is a gnome. If I ever made a mage, it would be a gnome (I almost definitely wont: three artifact weapons is enough). My shaman is a goblin, but please don't judge me or think I love gnomes any less because I don't play her much (she's not a gnome, so how could I?). In short, I'll always be a short one. If they made tall pills, I'd deliberately never ever take them.
