So, I am finally going to apply for a raid spot again, I've seen your mask and wrote down all the information needed, however on a more personal level, I hope you don't mind that.
The story of a wanna-be legendary monk from the Alps
My name's Matthias (Matthew) and am 24 years old (soon 25, yep, getting old now), studying German literature (yes, there are still people who want to be teachers nowadays) and History in Vienna, playing the Violin good enough not to kill the birds outside and just love to read books ... and playing WoW of course!
Well actually, I am playing WoW since 2005 and have thus been either a Warrior (Tank) or Rogue (for dark things lurk in the shadows) most of the time. But this all changed with the Addon MoP and the Monk class which just blasted me right from the start. Nevertheless, I stopped playing after clearing ToT HC with my guild and ... yes, well, kind of sold my account after going abroad for a year and I honestly didn't expect to play again.
Problem is though, I did. And I just love it! WoW still remains my one and only favorite game. I could go back to my guild, but I decided to start again in an international guild since I just love English and meeting people throughout Europe could be funnier than only Germans and Austrians. So, that's why you see my strange application popping up in your forum all of a sudden.
I've got around 9 years of experience in WoW, starting with Zul'Gurub a long time ago, venturing into the depths of the Serpentine Shrine, killing the King when he's been still strong enough to devour a Hunter's pet with his plague crap and even managed to stay on this dragon's spine long enough to be able to tickle him to the abyss of the Maelstrom. I've always managed to raid on a competitive level and want to continue in WoD.
So, what's the craic of having me in your team?
First and foremost, I love my monk and the class itself. Thus I am eager to maximize my play style, my equipment and my progress on him all the time. Using sources like elitist jerks or mmo-champ is self explanatory for me. I am able to make commitments for the group, e.g. playing off-spec or just staying on reserve for an entire evening. I am not just into raiding, but love casual PvP, the crafting, exploring the world and story, playing with alts and raiding with them, doing achievements and helping people, especially in my guild. I am smart enough to know that fire is dangerous and that you have to wipe a few times on a boss until he gets tired enough to just hand over the loot in a basket.
Since WoW is the only game I am actively playing, you can expect a high attendance for raids and other guild events. My PC doesn't groan under the pressure of 25 people stacking together in a fire full of smoke, nor does my internet connection. I am using VuhDo for healing (And yes, I am one of those few people who actually enjoy the new healing style
), the Roth UI as Interface and transmogs for just looking awesome. I do have a microphone and am not afraid of using it. Wait, this sounds just a tiny little bit too awesome…
Yeah, actually it does. I haven’t been playing for a year now, thus no HC XP, and I can’t proof the existence of my old char with whom I’ve cleared almost all of the previous raid content. I suppose, you just have to trust me in this regard and see for yourself if you give me the chance of a test raid.
Anyway, I am not applying for SoO Mythic but for WoD with the full force of my motivation. Nevertheless, my char has now a decent ilevel of 566, SoO on normal mode clear and I know tacts for Mythic if you want to see my performance in a test raid.
Talent Choices
I am generally going with Momentum, Chi Burst, Chi Brew and Ring of Peace all the time. They offer steady mobility, with Chi Brew enough Chi during burst phases and Ring of Peace can save players from time to time, especially when yet again this DPS we all know wants to play the tank again.
For Thok i am definitely going with Rushing Jade Wind, especially because it is instant and the group stacks most of the time, i have no cast time and can use it parallel to other spells.
Siegecrafter and Klaxxi are a bit more complicated, requiring more movement of the group so I'll go with Chi Torpedo or Rushing Jade Wind, depends on the tactic i suppose. Garrosh is easy to choose again: RJW due to stacked groups and it's instant nature, being thus very useful in the Dream phases when I use it while running.
