[RG1] Shiftedroots, Lvl 100 Balance Druid

Post by Sixshadows » 29 Mar 2016, 02:59

Who is your character?

My characters are the following;

Shiftedroots, Balance / Restoration
Weixuen, Sublety / Combat

Who are you?

My name is Robin, I come from Sweden and I am 22 years old. I currently work at my local casino as a dealer and have been doing so for 2 years, apart from working I spend most of my off time hanging out with friends and watching TV shows and movies.

To which Raid Group are you Applying?

I'm applying to RG1.

Experience

To make this easier, I have formatted everything to the best of my ability and I will list all of my characters below to make it easier for you to see, as you will find out I switched classes a lot.

Shiftedroots, Balance / Restoration Druid
Weixuen, Sublety / Combat Rogue
Redhawt, Affliction / Demonology Warlock
Oak, Fire / Frost Mage
Snowfox, Blood Death Knight
Mingyao, Mistweaver Monk
Weiming, Beast Master Hunter

The Burning Crusade

I started off playing this game in TBC and during this expansion I got as far as killing Lurker from Below in SSC, I would provide the armory for said character but I sadly deleted the character later on, I did have it restored but they were unable to restore its statistics and what not so there is no actual proof I got that far during this expansion, so you'll have to take my word for it, said character if you want to look anyway.

Wrath of the Lich King

Moving into Wrath I started off playing on my Warlock and cleared entire Naxx and OS 3D and fought my way through most of Ulduar got to Hodir if memory serves right, took a small break and didn't come back until ICC where I transitioned to my Rogue and got once again pretty far into ICC, after not getting that much further I once again decided it was time to switch class and moved onto my DK where I got to Sindragosa, which was the furthest I got in this expansion.

Cataclysm

During Cataclysm I had a paradigm shift and I didn't really feel like PvE:ing that much and therefore I transitioned into PvP, at the time of WOTLK I had spent a lot of my time watching PvP videos and I was hooked. I wanted nothing more than to play a Rogue in PvP and pull off fancy stunts.

I got as far as 2.4k~ rating in 3's playing on my Rogue and after reaching my goal I took a small break and didn't really touch the expansion until the very end.

Moving into Dragon Soul I once again reverted back to my DK and I cleared the whole thing and got as far as Mythic Ultraxion, we couldn't quite beat the DPS timer and therefore we didn't really get much further.

Mists of Pandaria

Going into Mrs. Pandaria I was a bit conflicted, I didn't really know what direction I wanted to take, ultimately I settled for PvP and acquired 2.2k RBG rating on my Mage after having achieved yet another PvP goal of mine and the state of PvP being ultimately worse I decided I would once again go back to slumber and didn't touch the expansion until the later stages.

Moving into SOO, I spent most of my time simply pugging it with friends, I was playing this expansion primarily on my Rogue and we played til roughly Thok, pugging beyond that point was extremely tedious and mostly not really worth the hassle. I did make a quick switch to my Mage but I didn't get much further than my Rogue, I'm sure.

I can't actually recall if I was in a guild back then, even if I was it wasn't anything serious, most of my memories come from simply pugging it with friends and having a good time.

Warlods of Draenor

Moving into WoD, me and my friends were extremely fed up with pugging and figured the best option was to simply make our own guild, and so we did. We got as far as 2/7M in Highmaul playing on my Monk moving into BRF I once again switched class to my Hunter and got as far as 1/10M sadly I didn't play for the entire duration of BRF and our guild suffered huge losses due to internal conflict and recruitment issues and this led to everyone basically just quitting, myself included.

When HFC rolled around I decided I would spread my wings and attempt at making something out of myself and doing it completely solo while playing on my newly made Druid, I worked my way from the bottom and ultimately ended up at 2/13M until that guild suffered the same issues my previous guild had, and after finding a new home I managed to clench my way towards 9/13M, we did however beat Tyrant yesterday making us 10/13M, sadly I wasn't apart of the raid due to issues with management, will go into further detail down below in a different section.

Raid Role

Currently my role is as a ranged DPS and I occasionally heal if there is a lack of healers. I prepare by making sure I have consumables for both specs and making sure there isn't anything I have missed. I judge my own performance by comparing myself to other people with the same spec and looking at what they do differently. I also question my friend who is a very successful boomkin what I can do to improve and what not.

I always try and keep myself updated by surrounding myself with people that happen to have perfect knowledge on whatever I could possibly need, so if I have any questions I know they will always have the answer for it, I'm fortunate enough to have very good friends.

Your Spec

My rotation involves staring at a moving bar and using my abilities according to the movement of said bar. It's a really straight forward rotation, I could attempt to break it down and making it sound a lot more complicated than it really is, but it's basically a lot about dot management and making sure you're following the direction of the moving bar appropriately for the best damage output.

My stat priorities are Mastery followed closely by critical strike, with a tad of haste and multistrike to round it out.

Important talent choices are as follows Incarnation: Chosen of Elune and Euphoria, there aren't any super significant glyphs to take but one could argue the importance of Glyph of Moonwarding.

Off-specs and Alternative characters

I'm completely fine with switching to my off-spec, it's not a problem at all, obviously I would prefer to play one spec per night but if it is required or necessary I have absolutely no problem with that.

I'm currently looking to transition into my Rogue since I am absolutely in love with the sublety rotation, theorycrafting behind it and simply because it is the one character I've played on for most of my world of warcraft career so to speak. I have mentioned above all of my accolades that I've been able to achieve on this character.

Communication

I have a working microphone and I have absolutely no problem in using it. As you can probably tell I'm pretty keen when it comes to formatting, I used to moderate a forum that used the same coding and formatting system so I have absolutely no problem in using this forum.

Combat Logs

Logs

I completely understand that this is my weakest part when it comes to my application, but I believe I have other good traits that can hopefully make up for my lack of logs.

Your UI

My UI is completely Akrios inspired with a few tweaks seeing as how his was made quite some time ago, nothing super fancy, after having a pretty complicated UI, I decided I wanted one with as few addons as possible and with such a clean look as possible so I went back to my roots and re-created my very first UI.

Guild History

I've been in three relatively big guilds and I will post them all below in order and go through them one by one.

Unstable
B R E T H R E N
Inept

Unstable was the guild me and my in real life friends made together we were a good solid 15 or so real life friends and everyone basically knew everyone, the guild sadly collapsed due to the fact that it was extremely difficult to tell your real life friends that they really needed to step it up, this caused huge internal conflict and we even thought about branching out making the guild an English speaking one, sadly recruitment didn't yield any results and the guild ended up collapsing.

B R E T H R E N was the guild I joined on my Druid I first joined them when they were roughly 7/13HC and I was able to fight my way through HC with them and finally killing Archimonde, we ventured into Mythic as well and got as far as 2/13M, sadly after that we didn't get much further..

They were a group of amazing individuals and I am extremely fortunate to have had the chance to raid with them, sadly moving into Mythic we experienced the same issues my previous guilds had in the fact that recruiting new people didn't yield any results and thus the guild sort of went into hibernation and I was forced to spread my wings and move to a new guild.

My new home would become Inept and the issue there is that I simply don't agree with their raiding policy they currently have, the officers are extremely toxic and won't give up the chance to personally attack you if you happen to screw up, instead of giving criticism or telling you to improve they will blatantly tell you to F*** off and how bad you are and how they need to replace you.

I have voiced my concerns several times with the guild master who informed me that was completely normal and that I shouldn't take it too seriously, but I don't come to raid to have someone personally attack me and other members for 3 hours every raid, I come to play and have fun while simultaneously progressing, at the moment I asked them to demote me to alt / social / friend status while I figure out my situation.

I want to join TRC because you guys seem to share the same goals as I do, I want to play with good folks and progress while doing so.

Raid availability

This is a very difficult question to answer simply because of the fact that my schedule isn't fixed. I can't say that I will be off every Monday for example, or every Thursday. My schedule is basically "Work 3 days, be off 4" or "Work 2 days, be off 3" and so forth. Therefore I might miss raids, some weeks I might be able to come on every raid and some weeks I might not be able to attend a single one depending how many there are. Generally speaking I am able to attend most raids.

References

I heard from you guys by talking to Rinoa who saw my application to Drive and asked if he could refer it to you guys. I also had the ability to speak to one of your own Emi who gave me the ability to follow on an alt run and recommended I'd make an application.

I don't know if either of these people would vouch for me, but I doubt they'd have anything bad to say.

About you

I have mentioned most of myself in the earlier part of the application, but apart from what I wrote there I enjoy to travel and I frequently travel once a year, I will be visiting the US for the second time come this year and apart from that there really isn't too much more about me, I'm just a TV-show fanatic who loves his work and enjoys playing games.

Miscellaneous

I just want to say I had a blast writing this and that it took me roughly 2 hours to do so, I had a lot of fun writing it and I hope it shows exactly how much work I put into this application, regardless of how well it does I just want to say I had a blast writing this application and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Yours truly Shiftedroots / Weixuen.

Hey, based on unreliability, lack of many logs along with many being below the level of play we would expect of our applicant these are due to CDs have not been popped at correct times, lack of potions usages, not dumping extra procs and over capping SS. For these reasons I'm sorry to inform you that we cannot take the application any further.
