Who is your character?
Herecles (Dragonblight) - Fury Warrior Primarily but utilising Arms for a few of the HFC encounters and will do so more as I gear up.

Who are you?
Hey! My name is Mark and I am 33. I originally come from Scotland but I have lived on the Isle of Man for 8 years now.
To which Raid Group are you Applying?
I am applying for RG1.
Experience
I started raiding in pre 6.0 SoO. And I went from LFR and flex raiding to killing Sha of Pride Heroic within a few months with my team the Death Tribe on EU Hellfire. At that time the team was fragmenting with the efforts to increase the roster from 10 man to 25 man and I agreed with my raid leader that I would have to move on if I wanted to continue to progress.
I moved to What’s in the box and cleared Heroic SoO up to Garrosh (pre 6.0) then cleared him on Mythic Difficulty when 6.0 dropped.
My current and previous tier progress is:
Highmaul Mythic 5/7
Blackrock Mythic 6/10
Hellfire Heroic 13/13
Raid Role
Since starting raiding in SoO I have continually improved and always strive not only to be a better player but to be a better raider for my team.
I spend time each week reviewing the logs of the best players in the world to not only see how they are maintaining their high DPS but also to see how this fits within the team they are with and then how this fits with the tactics and balance in my current team.
I would consider myself a very positive person and my approach to raiding is to listen, contribute and then learn so I can best improve my performance and my teams over all progress.
Your Spec
The warrior Spec is very versatile in terms of single target and AOE. So I switch talents often depending on each encounter and depending on my raid team’s priorities.
Of course Bladestorm is used in AOE heavy encounters with Dragon Roar as this is a warriors most devastating ability but I would stress that where single targets are priority for our progress I wouldn’t blindly pad AOE with Bladestorm.
Avatar and Stormbolt are my main choices in single target encounters. Bloodbath is simmed higher but many top warriors prefer Avatar as it is a flat damage increase and is not so RnG dependant like bloodbath. When speccing arms though I would use Bloodbath as it benefits from the rends and cleaves arms provides.
Depending on the length of the encounter will determine whether I use anger management, Ravager or Siegebreaker. The 100 level talents are very dependable on uptime on boss and of course gear. The main benefit of Anger management is to be able to use 3 min cooldowns and then have them up sooner. A great example has been Gorefiend whereby I can pop all my cooldowns at the start and then have them back up for the feast of souls burn period.
Sudden Death is optimal with Fury and Arms so I will always be speccing that that pending any simcraft changes.
The other main choice for me in a raid is Vigilance as this can be so important to keeping a tank up should things get tight on a kill.
Glyph wise the choices are fairly standard for warriors. I use Enraged speed as the extra movement can really assist in a raid. The Unending rage glyph is mandatory as it increases rage and finally I use the glyph of raging wind to get more synergy between whirlwind and raging blow. When on interrupt duty I will sometimes switch to the glyph of rude interruption as this increases damage by 6% when I use my interrupt ability.
As you may know the warrior is one of the most gear dependant classes. Ensuring Crit is around 25% before raid buffs is critical to ensure decent enrage uptime.
After that mastery is the most useful stat as once enraged, Mastery boosts DPS. You really have to have both working because if Crit is not high enough to enrage you then mastery becomes next to useless!
Weapon damage is one if the biggest improvements to a warriors DPS so I have used the best equipment I have got so far and they are 2 one handers.
I have 2 tier pieces from T18 and I have equipped these. The T17 is superior for warrior burst damage in certain situations but I have found through simcraft and personal testing that I am still doing more DPS with the mixed Tiers. Of course the 4 Piece Tier 18 set is a priority for me at the moment to improve!
Off-specs and Alternative characters
As mentioned above, I am good on Arms. I wouldn’t say I am as skilled as I am with Fury currently but I am working on the rotation and improving it. I have a good weakaura that tracks rend as well as the Tell me when add on so I am aware of all my ability up times and all it will take is more practise to perfect the arms playstyle.
I do not have any geared alts. Whilst I acknowledge this may be useful, I just love the warrior class and I just couldn’t imagine myself playing anything else!
Communication
I do have a microphone and I am happy to speak during a raid. I enjoy talking to my Guildies as I think it is important to make friends in a guild as it is this camaraderie that makes raiding fun for me!
In previous guilds, I have been an active poster on forums and I think they are a great tool for communicating outside game time.
Combat Logs
I have achieved numerous 90% plus percentile DPS logs and when my previous raid team was stronger in Highmaul and Blackrock I achieved a few world Top 100 rankings.
I have found that the gear in Hellfire Citadel has boosted warrior DPS quite significantly. Unfortunately I am missing a few crucial pieces and therefore my percentiles have not been as good as they were earlier in the expansion! I do hope though from my logs you can see that when I was current my DPS output and performance was very good.

Angry Assignments - For Clarifying raid priorities and other instructions to the raid
Bartender
DBM
Exorcus Raid Tools - Assistance with Certain Boss Mechanics
OmniCC - Adds numbered count downs to abilities
Quartz - I use this for mob cast bars which are on the right of my screen to assist with interrupts
Skada
Tellmewhen - Another cooldown tracker
Tody Plates - I find the enlarged mob health bars make easier tracking during AOE heavy fights
Weak Auras - I use this for the big green health bar to my left. Means I am always aware no matter what if i am in trouble!
Overall I find the WOW default raid frames very useful and they provide everything i need. I put all my main abilities directly in the middle under my character so all my focus is directed to the centre of the screen where the important actions are occurring.
Guild History
As mentioned above I left The Death Tribe on Hellfire EU as our team broke apart. There was no real choice if I wanted to continue and whilst he was sad to see me go (as I was DPS officer and well liked) the guild leader understood I had to leave to continue progressing. He is still a friend and would be available if you wished to speak with him.
I joined What’s in the box EU Dragonblight and progressed as above in SoO.
We progressed very well in Highmaul and into Blackrock and I achieved numerous world top 100 rankings and top 90 -99th Percentiles. All my logs are included on the link below from Highmaul, Blackrock and Hellfire. We then lost a few key players and I felt that progress never recovered to where I was happy.
I enjoyed raiding there and we cleared 7/13 heroic HFC and again I was well liked but I decided I needed to move on to get better progress which is what I really want from the game. The guild officers agreed and I have now stepped down from the team and away from the guild.
I raided with Questionable Ethics on Doomhammer EU and cleared up to 12/13 with very little problems even though it was the first time I had engaged the later bosses. They are heavily focussing on Mythic and will not be running heroic very often and they have 30+ fully geared players and I felt this wasn’t the place for me.
I then raided with Knights who Say Ni last week and cleared 13/13 heroic. They seemed very keen with my performance but communication hasn’t been great and again I don’t feel my place is there.
I have joined Tenacity on my server as a stop gap to assist with grouping and chatting while playing the game. They are a solid team and have 3 geared DPS warriors. I know one of the officers and he invited me as social and I cleared Hellfire last night with them but they are not looking for any more warriors at the moment.
I am really looking for a team I can grow with but at the moment, it is clear to me that my gear is holding me back somewhat and I am struggling to be competitive.
I really liked the way you described your guild on Wow progress and I really like the website.
I have been reviewing a lot of guilds and only applying to the ones that I get a good feel from and The Raven Council has really stood out. Whilst I get on well with all ages of people, I like the idea of maturity and raiding with people who value this.
I also want to grow into a good guild like yours and get back into solid mythic raiding and I feel when the group values manners, maturity and friendship those long hours of progression and then the final kill means so much more as it is succeeding with friends not just raid mates.
The forum and website seems nice and active and again that is what matters to me. Your progress of course speaks for itself and is at the level I am looking for but again for me the vibe has to be right and I feel I have not felt valued in other recent trial guilds. You sound like effort and friendliness will be reciprocated and that for me is not only what makes this game enjoyable but is also crucial to progress and a stable guild.
Raid availability
Your raid times are perfect for me as I work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Barring the usual annual holiday I never miss raids and if something crops up I will always notify people before hand
References
I have been reviewing the WOW progress recruiting status and applying to guilds that have the right progress but also ones I get a nice vibe from. As mentioned above I really liked the outline of the guild!
Reference wise I can put you in touch with whoever you wish to speak.
The raid leader Adrenalynz in What’s in the box can vouch for me as a friend and raider and I am sure Sagira the DPS officer would also be happy to speak with you.
About you
Well as mentioned my name is Mark! Overall I would consider myself a very positive person and usually in a good mood. Optimistic and I really enjoy my time raiding and the excitement of progress.
I work for an offshore trust and corporate service Company as head accountant and I play lead guitar in a couple of rock bands on the Island.
I like to keep in shape and go to the gym most days and whilst I love WOW and raiding I realise there is more to life. I have had many fun experiences and feel I am a well rounded mature person who can have a laugh and also chat about many interesting things with my team mates.
Miscellaneous
As stated, your progress is right where I want to be at the moment but more than that I really like the vibe you have in the guild and I am really looking for a good progression guild I can call home and stay with.
I am friendly, honest and tactful and always work well in a group dynamic. I am really committed to mythic progress and feel I play to a high standard that I can contribute to your team.
My knowledge of my class is solid and I calculate I am missing 4 pieces of gear that will make a significant difference. Once I obtain these I know I will do very well as my playstyle is solid and I make sure to review tactics and know what I am doing before a raid starts.
I hope you will see from my logs that when I was reasonable current with gear I was able to rank in the top percentiles in the world.
As always please feel free to ask any questions and if you want a chat I am always free to do so.

Hey Zarell & Bowick!
That's great news and thank you!
I cleared heroic last night but that shouldn't be a problem as I should still be able to do the run. Just no loot !
Look forward to meeting you all!
Kind regards
