Save cows eat a tauren. Not the most glamorous guild, but got invited when I started re-leveling and joined for the XP buff.

Found this guild from the Guild browser, saw that guild achis were high and that the focus was raiding, and felt like a guild I could be part of.
About you
I'm a Network Administrator, and old school (Pre-PC) gamer. I've been playing WoW since early TBC, but only really gotten into it near the end of TBC and early Wrath. Picked Wrath apart, played some Cata, and quit when I hit 90 on MoP because I had a lot going on RL (preparing to emigrate to another country, getting my Cisco degree etc.). Returned recently because part of the depression of sojourning is lack of familiar things, so WoW fills that void up to a point. I've rejoined with renewed interest especially since features like LFR, Flex, Cross-Realm and sites like OpenRaid actually make finding raids kids play and I can collect those last few achis that I've missed.
I'd like to join a competent guild mainly for the atmosphere of interacting with people who know the game. As a frequent member (and occasional leader/officer) of similar semi-to-hard-core guilds, I'm very familiar and relaxed at these environments.
Experience with the game :
- Done all raids and dungeons in the game (perhaps missing the odd bonus boss here and there - looking at you, Ra Den).
Frequently lead groups into raids, nowadays usually for achi runs. In the past, was doing both progression and loot/alt runs with success (always depending on group).
Have been dubbed "the stratmonger" by an old guild of mine (Soulflayer Syndicate, WotLK era) because I'm always read up on tactics and am comfortable explaining them or breaking them down for other raiders.

Who knows ? Being short ? Like a cheap version of dwarves perhaps ? (They're cute though)
