Our next guild meeting will take place in less then a week. Insiders know the guild meeting is where we discuss everything TRC, set out the course for the coming period and – last but not least – deal with promotions!
All please let us know if you’ll be able to join, by signing up for this event on phpRaider (just click on to September to see the event). Also, please help us getting the word out to all our guildies.
The venue will follow, but as always, will be something special …
Graunwan and Ithilian are taking the lead on reviving our infamous Raid Group 2, or RG2 for insiders.
Interested in the more casual side of raiding? Only got 2 times 2 hours per week? Then show your interest in this thread on the forum and/or contact Graun & Ithi!
Given the fact that our progression raid group has seen some changes and the need for making headway into the Firelands in a timely fashion, it’s about time we made an overview of our raiding ethos.
What we do
1. We face the latest raid content three times a week: on Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday during slots from 20.00 to 23.00 CET.
2. We do so with a dedicated, well balanced team of 12 to 14 players.
3. And we intend to kick ass doing so!
The composition of our raid group
4. We strive for 12-14 members in our raid group (14 being the maximum for the regular group), well divided over the various roles (tanks, healers, melee dps, ranged dps). Within this group we aim for added flexibility through multiple people capable of filling another role in a pinch. Anyone not in the designated group of 14 members is considered to be on the reserve list.
5. The Councilors of the Raven Council decide on membership of our raid group. Whenever a spot opens up we will recruit a suitable replacement and/or shuffle around the various roles a bit. Those on the reserve can apply for that spot first if they have the required role/class.
What we expect
As there was clearly some confusion, we’d like to clarify that the members of the progression raid group are expected to not get their main characters saved to Oculthar before Fridays.
That way we can start the weekly raid cycle with a quick kill on this new boss and thus boost our raid group with more gear (provided Alliance holds Baradin Hold that is).
Everyone is still free to PuG with their alts, or with their main from Friday onwards.
Although he made life hard for us with his hounds, in the end Shannox proved no match for The Raven Council. One more lieutenant down, we steadily progress further into the Firelands.
Additional info by Gunnolf:
As we had only two ranged and only one of them being reliable in doing 30k hits on rageface, this proved to be a bit difficult to do without people dying.
So, after lots of wiping due to single deaths and switching between keeping rageface alive longer and then killing him fast again, we finally found a balance in having enough people on rageface and having some more backup on the 30k hits to get him down.
Congratulations all on this feat and also a big welcome to our newest hunter: Leonhard!
As patch 4.2 comes with a much welcome nerf to the boss encounters of Blackwing Depth, Bastion of Twilight and the Wind Council (on Normal modes that is), we are once again in the position to start offering some laid back, more casual raiding!
So let it be known to all our casual guild members that from now on we will be organizing casual raids on Monday nights. These raid slots will start at 20.00 and last until approximately 23.00 server time. If you’re participating please show up 15 minutes early so the raid leader can form a proper raid group and you have the chance to patch up your gear, stock up on consumables and join the preemptive banter.
It would be most appreciated if you’re able to indicate your availability on ravencouncil.com/phpRaider, but this isn’t required. Just know that in principle a casual raid is happening on Mondays and if able try to show up for it early. The raid leader will look for 2 tanks, 3 healers and 5 dps, made up in majority by our casual members with a sprinkle of raider’s alts. If we’re lacking a couple of players we’ll invite good friends to join the raid.
Don’t be daunted about scary stories on the difficulty of the boss fights! As said, the encounters have been nerfed quite a bit and should be on par for everyone who is familiar with heroics. Also, we provide a backbone of seasoned players to the raids who have ample experience with the intricacies of every fight. Last but not least, we’re organizing these raids for good fun, not for progression purposes (so don’t fret about dozens of wipes on a row).
Btw, for our progression raiders this means that the usual Monday raid slot will be moved to Tuesday. Please rearrange your lives accordingly
